anyone up for a game of baseball/softball(for you older fellas) ;) and has a nearby diamond that wont be used by little league mid-game??

im dying to play and figure this could be a good spot to get together a bunch of guys (and girls??) to have enough for a game.

anyone interested?

all we would need is a diamond really. (and a decently distanced fence for us all stars)

maybe a BBQ/Beer session afterwards in the park?

c'mon ya'll.

lets hear some ideas

My left shoulder is messed up and can no longer throw a ball or swing a bat without pain. :(

I'd definitely be down to be that guy in the stands at all the Devil Rays games (I think). :D

There are a bunch of diamonds in Boston. I'm sure one of them is available.

WRC...im picking up a pattern from you.

"cant go to the meet because i dont have my car yet "

"cant play baseball because my shoulder is messed up "

:p

you can be the beer hander outer. no beerless hands on the bench

that will be YOUR job. you may also goof on people excessively.

;) :) :p :wiggles:

ok so does anyone have a diamond nearby then that doesnt require permits and doesnt have games every weekend?

I can think of a number in Lowell, but usually they're taken up by Little League, we usually play whiffle ball at Shedd Pahhhhhhk, but since I moved to Boston, I haven't really seen if the Little League is over yet.

I can't hand out beer because I have really bad arthritis in my hands. It hurts. :(

There is nothing wrong with my mouth though. :D

Back to the topic at hand. How much would it cost to get a permit? I can't see it being $50.

would we even need a permit?

we could set up somethign like that though and do it at a park that has a pavilion, a little lot, and a diamond and BBQ pit. same exact type as when theres summer work/softball picnics and whatnot.

end of summer baseball and bbq meet or something.

id be super down for that.

ill call around if ya'll want just need some park names you gusy are familiar with.

The only thing you run into without a permit is rolling up to a field with 20 people and hoping that there is no one else playing there.

At least if we have a permit we could guarantee playing time. If we have 20 people and split the permit among everyone it would probably be a couple dollars a person. I'd pay.

Just let me know if you prefer grass or no grass. :D

I couldn't get a link that had the results but go to this link and enter "City Wide" in the location and "Baseball" and "Softball" in the first two features and it will give you all of the fields in Boston.

I have played on Lee Playground before but as you said, no parking.

I can check out Cassidy since it is in my hood.

Looks like you have things rolling on Simonds so let me know if you want me to look at Cassidy.
