It seems to be a common sore spot. To be honest I doubt there is much better out there aftermarket. I'd take the free repair.

Ok, thanks. I need some support from the subi family...free or 600+ for parts and labor. $1200 maybe..?
I've no idea what you just said.

Why are you debating a free repair vs. the cost out of pocket?

I don't know what yours is doing but I have a 15 with over 75k on it.(bought it brand new) My TB has been chirping for a years now. Only does it at start up. After it warms up, I don't hear it anymore. I'll drive like this till failure, then I'll replace everything when I take it apart.

Ok. Subarus. Tb. Have been known to go bad. Different intervals. Its why I was playing with the idea to just pull the trigger and replace it all.
