What is up with this?
Everytime I wash my car the damn engine light comes on! It bogs at 4K and the light judt comes on and the car wont do over 4k with the light on. They fixed it last time at the dealer by replacing the MAF sensor. It was wet when they diagnosed it.
Now the same thing is happening again. What the hell is wrong with this thing?
Could it be a poorly designed intake (located just after the front of the hood) sucking in water. Or does the [email protected] allow too much flow and carring water too far into the intake?
If anybody knows shoot me a line.

Just quit pointing the hose at the area between the grille and the hood.

The intake ducting in the WRX is excellent. THis design is similar to one of the better aftermarket intake designs for the Miata (Racing beat). At the hood & grille area, there's a huge amount of airflow coming into the engine compartment. It could be done like other cars, and place the duct opening in a more protective area, say behind the headlamp, away from direct airflow.
