To everyone that has AT&T Digital Cable at home:

I have a question about multiple cable boxes. My dad ordered digital cable awhile back, but the digital cable box is downstairs. I'm not sure how digital cable works, but I'd like to purchase a digital cable box so I can watch all the other channels that I'm not able to watch when my coax is connected directly to the tv.

We also have AT&T Broadband (cable internet) as well. The outlet is located in my room for the cable modem. When we orderd cable tv, I bought a coax splitter and connected one coax to the cable modem and the other directly to my tv.

So, the question is: Would it be as easy as buying a digital cable box (perhaps maybe even the same one as the one downstairs: Motorola) and receiving all the other digital cable channels?

Is there something I've overlooked?

You will have to call your cable company and ask. Digital Cable uses a MAC address system to bring you movies on the box. Each cable box has to be setup by the cable company.
