Went in a typr r for the first time on sunday.
what an amazing machine it is.
here it is:







spec:

WRX STi Type R, 2 dr, Inovit 18's, Tein superstreets, silicone hoses,full TSL motorsport Grp N de-cat exhaust system, Ecutek remap, VF43 turbo, 550cc injectors, 3 port boost solenoid, AP 6 pots, drilled and grooved 365mm discs, ap racing clutch,close ratio gearing ,light weight shell.

The list is endless , almost £20,000 has been spent on this car. Its running around 350 bhp at 1.5 bar boost.


Umbeleivably quick and its got the stopping power to match.

Any type r's on here?

hey mate awesome "classic" scooby :thumbup:

here in U.S. we never got those versions , in fact the first WRX's were the bugeye ones on 2001.

nowadays you can find our "classic" NA 2.5RS's with swapped wrx(2.0T) and 04+ STI(2.5T) engines ;)

Throw some more money at it and you have a 22b replica.


Great looking car. Someday I will do a 2.5 rs conversion as well....

the Type R version is pretty rare:
Version VI (09/99-08/00) - GC8G
There were 2000 WRX STi Version 6 Limited,
1000 WRX Type R Version 6 Limited
and 2000 WRX STi RA Version 6 Limited cars produced.

I absolutely LOVE that color.

What a helluva nice car
+1...first thing I thought was how good that color looked. It just seems to sparkle with STI goodness. Makes me :wiggles: in my pants

True, but none of those are 22b's.


Something about the fender flares does it for me..

Dont get me wrong. I wouldn't change a thing on the above posted car. Its near perfection.

Blows the 08's out of the water, and I actually like it better than all other impreza designs.

To answer a couple of questions:

its the original colour.
type r's were never officially realeased by Subaru in the UK, they were all imported by either individuals or traders.

The P1 (prodrive one) is basically the same car apart from they were officially released in the Uk and are all blue.


the Impreza was released in the UK in 1993, but we didnt get a turbo'd version till 94.

I cant beleive you guys never got the classics officially released over there!


So are classics expensive and hard to get there???
