All Season Tires

I currently have winter tires (they came on the car when I bought it two weeks ago) and I want to get some more appropriate all season tires. Anyone have any suggestions on reasonable tires that won't effect performance too much in the summer, but will still give solid traction during Maryland and Pennsylvania winters?

I live in New England myself and have asked the same question when I bought my Ford Taurus Sho & Subaru Impreza WRX. Depending on the size of your wheels (mine: 235/45ZR17 97W XL) I would recommend either of the following;

1. G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S made by BFGoodrich

2. EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06 made by BFGoodrich

3. EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06 made by Continental

These are just some examples of Ultra High Performance all season tires.

Check out by looking at your specific model vehicle here ---> Tiretrack

Hope this helps mate.

If you have a set of winters, why not purchase a dedicated set of summers, instead of no seasons?

...and that. Summer / winter the only way to go.

I already told my mechanic to be on the lookout for winter wheels that'll fit the Tacoma (and I haven't even test-driven it yet).
The conti dws is about the best all season I've used. However they fall far behind even my cheapo Firestone winter tires in icy snowy performance. The winter performance also dropped off substantially after a year. I personally would get a set of summer tires and keep the winter tires for winter

Chalk up another vote for a summer and winter setup.
Not everyone has storage for a spare set (but if you do, totally worth it)
I've heard heat will make winters compounds soft and stick and they can be fun in the sun. They just wear out extra fast. So if you're going all season wait till the winters you have need replacing then worry about what to get. If you go summer/winter get the summers on sooner than later.
I think I got at least 8 CT winters out of the X-ice I had on my mini and they still were super in the snow when I sold it. Summer's didn't last nearly but they were a lot cheaper.
Some tire places will store tires for a small fee. Definitely worth getting summer tires and winter tires.

All-season tires offer inferior performance and safety to dedicated tires. Even moderately priced dedicated tires typically offer superior performance and safety over pricier "high performance" all-season tires. So dedicated tires typically are better for driving enthusiasts. Additionally, while it may seem like it costs more to buy two sets instead of just one, you would be splitting mileage between two sets.
Agree with purchase dedicated summer tires.

Im opposite and need to get snow tires... I haven't hunted yet but at recommendations since we are talking tires? LOL.

Im in Upstate NY so we get some snow..

Currently running the stock tires that came with the WRX in the Summer . . . winter tires are General Arctics mounted on a set of Enkei rims . . . oops . . . I mean wheels. ;) I'm still old school . . . what can I say?
Thanks for all the suggestions. Unfortunately I don't have the storage space to keep the winters. Someone suggested getting a chew set of rims and having both sets (summer and winter) tires mounted and switch out when needed. That would be awesome, but living in an apartment with no storage makes that difficult.

I'm going to call around to the local tire places and see if any will store the winters for me. I definitely a want to keep them for the winter. Any particular summer tires you all recommend??
Personally I'm running Michelin pilot super sports. The grip is unreal. It really helped balance the understeer when mated with an alignment.

Tires fit under a bed, just saying.
^This is why it's always good to ask for advice, haha!

Option #2: Make a coffee table out of whichever tires are currently not in use..

^ believe it or not, I was thinking the same damn thing!

I've read many threads, here and on "the other" forum and General Altimax Arctic tires seem to be the most popular.
That's what I plan to go with, when I get a '17 WRX. I have a set of 17" 2015 WRX base wheels, standing by.

On my second set of MPSS. Great tire. They are track worthy - did a track day on my first set.
