Aftermarket Wheels and Offset

What fits the 2016 WRX? I know I can go down to 17's or up to 19's but what offsets work for the 17"s, 18"s, and 19"s? I also know the stock setup is 18 x 8.5 with +55

I have never purchased aftermarket wheels outside of oem spec. This is all new to me and I really dont want to be messing around with the stability of the ride. With the different offsets when are spacers needed and does any of the hardware need to be changed?

For an example I am looking at a wheel that is 17 x 8 with an offset of +50 will this work is anything needed? Or when going to an 18 x 9.5 does this change the +55 offset to something else?

Thanks,
Mike

17x8 +50 will work great.

18×9.5 will be around +45

Thanks!

So does this mean if I wanted to go to a 17/18 X 7.5 I would want an offset closer to +55 as opposed to a +50?
Thanks!

In theory, but also be aware of strut clearance issues.
Friend of mine has a 15 wrx he's running an 18x9.5 wheel with a 38 offset and 255/45 tires it puts the wheels flush with the fender he's lowered an inch and has no rubbing issue's at all so stock hight that would be no problem

OP, I wouldn't recommend this.

Not saying I would recommend it just trying to give a better idea of what offsets he could work with. just out of curiosity and to gain some knowledge why would you not recommend

Because of the low offset I assume causing wear on the suspension? I'm also looking at new wheels, but want to keep offset as close to factory as possible
a 45 series 255 tire is too much imo for a 9.5 wheel in our fender.
Either 255x35, 255x40, 265x35 or 245x40 (which has a tad stretch)
Thanks for the info guys.! Starting to understand this a bit better
