Hi, glad to meet other WRX owners. First WRX ever! Got a 2022 WRX because my daughter thinks they are cool. Haven't driven a stick in 15 years, it's been fun learning how to drive a stick again any one in the portland metro area? Wondering if there's any Subaru clubs in the are? Looking to meet some other owners to learn more about the car. Anyone know any good sites to learn about the history of these vehicles?

Welcome. Should be a bunch of subaru and even wrx clubs there.

This is a good article, a bit old from 2013, but good. Bunch of rally racing wins in 90s with a rivalry against mitsu's evo. Both the wrx & lancer were very fast and moderately priced in the 90s & 00s & this created a cult-like following for both. Many special variants, WR1 & FQ400/440 in particular were rockets, faster than some ferraris & lambos of the time.

Not sure if you are interested in the engine tech behind it but if you are, this article is very good. The FA20 engine described there (2015-2021) is very similar to the FA24 in 2022 cars.
