I can't believe I'm saying this, but the new Veloster N is a very nice looking hot hatch with decent power (275hp & 260ft-lb tq) and some serious tech. Take a serious look at this car, if you're interested in surprisingly good looking a hot hatch. Here's a site with some decent photos, although more are available with a Google search->https://jalopnik.com/the-275-horsepower-2019-hyundai-veloster-n-is-ready-to-1822084985.

And here's a good review of this car's cousin, the Veloster i30 N->https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=7&v=pSJU7SWYgxw.

What are your thoughts?

I'm not completely sold on the looks, but the interior looks great. The seats look nicely bolstered and I like the simple clean lines throughout. I'd be curious to see how the car holds up and how it will be priced. If this car delivers what its promised for around the mid 20's the Civic Si is going to get **** on by all of the competition, yet again.

Looks better than the CTR to me, style wise anyway.

Ray,

Could it be lacking a few hundred horsepower, too? BTW, we are set for COTA and the AMG Driving Experience in December. We get to drive their cars (me behind the wheel of someone else's car at COTA - WOOHOOO).

I'm just not a fan of the rear of the Veloster. I'd be more interested in the i30N
Definitely agree here, and hopefully Hyundai has fixed it's manual gearbox. Truly slop in the early model genesis coupes

I feel like the actual buy number once they hit lots is going to be the kicker. Cause we all know dealers like to order these with every option possible to begin with

Having moved 3 times in the past year, with a 4th move coming in the next 1-2 months.... I'm very much missing having a hatchback/wagon vehicle. The Veloster N is one I keep almost sort of kind of considering to look at later.... But I really want to keep the AWD.... and I don't feel 100% motivated to go after a Hyundai.

Plus I just really like my WRX. Give us wagons/hatches again damn you Subaru.

(that or a turbo Crosstrek could be cool? I like the "Crosstrek XTi" dream from here: https://www.topspeed.com/cars/subaru/2020-subaru-crosstrek-xti-ar177153.html then again, that's only because of not having a wagon WRX and still wanting a fast wagon of some kind)
