2017 WRX Lapis Blue

I'm so excited to be here! Had Subaru's in the past, almost purchased a brand new STI in 2006, but gave in to the family pressures and bought a Toyota Tundra instead. Well, life changes and kids grow and now I am the proud owner of a new 2017 WRX in Lapis Blue. I will have to post a picture. It is now been in my possession for 30 hours and I have already looked at it a hundred times. I dig this car so much, from the looks, to the sound it makes when the starter motor engages with the flywheel, even the smell and smoke that comes off of it as I took it from 9 miles to 40 on the odometer. So much fun! It sure is great to feel like a kid again… at 47 no less. :D

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the car!

Enjoy it!
Welcome.... Pics?
Welcome to da club!
Welcome, I get complements about my Lapis blue color all the time, even a staff member at my local dealer told me he never seen a WRX in that color before lol
Welcome and congrats! Lapis Blue for the win!
Someone say Lapis Blue? Congratulations on the buy and being a member!
Pics will come next week. I've been busy at work, and lots of rain make for poor picture quality! I'm up to 200 miles now, and loving every minute of it. What a wonderful car. I am just so pleased with the purchase. Ordering some goodies from subiespeed.com tonight, and might get a fun axle back exhaust on next week. I look forward to the rumble (Ducati owner, must have cool exhaust sound).
Not the best iPhone pic. But proof it exists!!! Most fun car purchase I've ever made. Such a fun time. I can't stop staring at it. That's a sure sign I purchased the right car.

Good to hear another guy at 47 bought a Rex. Lol. Mid life crisis purchase. I thought I was the only one here not in the 18- 25 yr old bracket. COOL..
How old are some owners here? Ages please!

Ya, I guess it is a MLC car… but I always thought that would be something crazy expensive. This car has so much awesomeness packed into a small package - all for 28K (Sticker was 31). I just can't get over the awesome drivetrain; the driving experience is so much fun. Not the most comfortable car I've owned, not even close. But I've never been more happy feeling the bumps in the road as I am now. I'm throughly impressed with this little sedan.

I agree 100%. Fun and usable as a daily driver. My previous car was an 07 Acura TL. Had balls for what it was, super comfortable and smooth. But I wanted to have some fun and feel like I'm 25 years old. This car accomplishes that. Looking forward to snow driving too!

So awesome! I really dig the car pictures... mine looks a lot like that, but only dirty from the recent storms. The red accents are a nice touch! I like the side molding you have installed... I wonder if I can do that myself, as I've seen in on the subaruonlineparts website. Dood.. Nice car!! I'm going to wash mine tomorrow because yours looks so awesome!!

Thanks, but it doesn't look awesome, right now. It's been raining for 3 weeks.
I have read that the body side moldings are easy to install as they come with a template. I ordered them as a port installed option, along with Homelink, door edge guards, STS, cargo tray and the dealer installed the Aero Splash Guards, because for some odd reason, the salesman couldn't add them to the port installed options. I watched him try, three times.
I'm was undecided about the body side moldings, for a long time, but I'm really glad that I got them. I believe they look great, have some function and break up the slab side look.
I got the idea for the red accents from this thread http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/showthread.php?t=134492289

Congratulations on the new WRX! I just picked my WR blue one up Monday. I'm glad to see I'm not the only " experienced" guy buying a WRX! Being 50 I already had a young kid ask if the car was a little too "boy racer" for me! LOL

I may have had a snide email, or two, for junior.

I just told him that it didn't have a wing, so I was OK!
