I have a 2016 WRX stage 2, all the goodies
but one thing has bothered me since... I think since I got the car, though I don't remember it so much when it was completely stock. I went to stage 1 at 3K mi. Stage 2 at 8K mi and now at 13K miles.
On startup I hear a rap or a rattle coming from the engine for about a second and then it goes away. Almost sounds like lifters slapping around in an old V8 until the oil gets to them.
A tuner friend of mine says that it is "chain slap" happening before the tensioner engages completly.
Anyone else experience this in their 2015, 2016, 2017? and anyone know of a way to get it to stop? It kinda drives me crazy a bit to start the dam thing
She was screaming for a picture yesterday, so I had to take one, figured I would share
