I have a 2016 WRX stage 2, all the goodies :) but one thing has bothered me since... I think since I got the car, though I don't remember it so much when it was completely stock. I went to stage 1 at 3K mi. Stage 2 at 8K mi and now at 13K miles.

On startup I hear a rap or a rattle coming from the engine for about a second and then it goes away. Almost sounds like lifters slapping around in an old V8 until the oil gets to them.

A tuner friend of mine says that it is "chain slap" happening before the tensioner engages completly.

Anyone else experience this in their 2015, 2016, 2017? and anyone know of a way to get it to stop? It kinda drives me crazy a bit to start the dam thing :)

She was screaming for a picture yesterday, so I had to take one, figured I would share :D

So I contacted Eric Minehart at Torqued Performance. He explained to me that basically all cars with TGV deletes have this because of the setting to start the car correctly. He modified my map and fixed the issue in about 30 minutes.
If anyone is looking to get a good e-Tune, I would highly recommend him. Knowledgeable, responsive and gives one hell of a tune. Well worth the money IMO.
