My 2004 wrx has been overheating at low speeds / at idle. Today, I burped the system and it was idling properly for a while. I went out for a drive and then I noticed it was heating up again at idle. I'm thinking maybe a thermostat or fan issue? I'm really hoping it's not a head gasket. Anything helps! Thanks

Oh and the thermostat goes up and down sporadically. It doesn't just go straight up to hot, it goes up slowly and drops quickly and then goes back up.
