But like size and placement it should be fine right? I kind of expect to have to relocate the mounting brackets. But what about working wth the tranny
Also does anyone know what EJ the 2016 sti engine is? I can't find it anywhere. Thanks
It will drop right in.. Engine mounts are identical, as is the transmission mounting. It will be no different from the OEM engine in that regard. Chamber matching the heads would be a good idea, and obviously you will need custom tuning. I would also go ahead and use ARP head studs while you're at it.
Don't forget, if you have spun a bearing you can't just put a new shortblock in it and expect it not to fail. You're going to need to replace the oil pump, oil cooler, tear down inspect and clean the heads (I recommend to just go ahead and do a full rebuild of the heads). The turbo may need to be replaced.. all oil lines, pretty much anything that engine oil touches will either need to be replaced or thoroughly cleaned
if possible.
The 2016 STI has the ej257.. same engine that has come in the STI ever since it first came to the United States in 2004.
