Misfire 301 and occasional 302, did datalogs with AP.
Tuner says leak should be before throttle body and/or intake manifold.
Best place to introduce smoke and anything I should plug up before test?
I saw vid putting smoke into turbo inlet using rubber/latex glove and couple nipples capped but I also seen mechanic pull a hose front right of engine on another occasion without capping anything.
Any other advice what to check would be greatly appreciated.

This is a tricky thing and easy to do incorrectly.

Ideally pressurize after the turbo which will make it easier -- you only have to plug the boost reference line and the fuel pressure manifold reference.

You CAN pressurize before the turbo, but you'll need to clamp the EVAP lines, cylinder head vents, and PCV line. You also don't want to add too much pressure as you can give the turbo seals a hard time.

Crank position in this test is very important. There are certain crank angles that allow intake and exhaust valve overlap and that will keep you from building any positive pressure in the manifold. Use a breaker bar with the car in neutral to position the crank to a good angle where valves are closed.

Thanks for very detailed info.
Found out it is a head gasket.
Are heads number stamped like the engine?
Does Subaru number stamp heads to match engine?
