1) what is the recommended oil change interval? I plan on putting mobil one and a new subaru filter in about every 3000-3500 miles, but I'm wondering what the factory recommendation is. I couldn't find it in the manul.

2) Is it possible to turn the seat belt warning chime off? It drives me crazy when I just want to sit in a parking lot with my ac on and don't want to wear my seat belt.

^^^You can follow this...

But if you are going to Synthetic...follow the Synthetic Oil recommendations and do it just before every 5000 miles. Thats one of the reasons that people change to Synthetic, is so that they don't have to change every 3000 miles. But sticking to the Subaru oil filters are a good idea...

I do Mobile 1 every 4500 or so.

As for Seatbelt Chime fix...check this link out. I did it and it works.

I seem to remember seeing a post around here somewhere that said the Subaru recommended oil change interval for their turbo cars is 3750 miles.

IIRC the normal interval is 7500, and the "extreme conditions" or whatever interval is 3750, but as of the 08 models they consider any turbo model to be "extreme conditions" and therefore should do 3750, but that this is not technically retroactive for past turbo models.

i do Mobil 1 every 5k. just gotta keep an eye on the level and don't let it run low.

Per a Subaru TSB it is now recommended that EVERY turbo Subaru is at 3750 on intervals. Until your warranty is up follow this and keep the receipts.

Towards the end of the warranty get some oil analysis done at and see how much farther you can push the intervals.
