Ive been driving stick for 10 years and never had trouble getting the car to shift smoothly but with my 2017 WRX 2nd gear is almost always jerky and 1st gear isn't as bad but still having trouble. What am I doing wrong??

Nothing. The stock tune is terrible. Same reason when you punch it all the power falls on its face after 5000 rpms.

Sounds like a Subaru honestly. Nothing wrong I don't think. You really have to slip it to get it smooth

Yeah it's just clunky AWD, girls love it
Yeah I was reading a Cobb tune makes it much smoother. Haven't really pushed her to 5000 yet still breaking in the engine.

Lol not my girl.. she likes that smooth boring automatic. But hey I guess that's cause she's never driven stick and doesn't know how awesome it is

I was never smooth until I got a Cobb AP,that eliminated the touchy throttle, and it pulls past 5K.

There are several threads on various reasons why. What you should concern yourself with is enjoying your vehicle while it's under warranty and you have no out of pocket repair costs.

Just Google lean tune and Subaru. The factory tune targets 14.7 psi even after boost begins to come on
