Is anyone running this wheel size on a 2017/2018 WRX? If so, how's clearance w/ stock height (is there room for 1-2 inch drop without losing practical driving capability) and do you have any tire recommendations apart from stock (245/40 R18)?

Thanks in advance!

im running 18x9.5 with a +40. Im running stock suspension and i think our measurements are similar enough where i can say running 1 or 2 inches lower is safe. In terms of tires im running 255/35/r18 and it looks fine

I've actually shifted my interest to your sizing. I did some additional research, and just as you said, there is enough room for a drop with enough clearance to prevent rub. I'm also worried that 19's will cause unnecessary TPMS warnings. What kind of wheels you running? I'm thinking about getting Klutch sl14's or M220's, and some Eibach lowering springs.

my wheels are TSW nurburgrings. i had the guys who did the installation just transfer my stock TPMSs over to the new wheels. Idk about putting 19s on just cause 18s generally look pretty good.

Larger diameter tires also weigh more. That thread I posted was pretty well received at first, so it got stuck.

I understand big is popular aesthetically. Go for it - they are your cars. My goal was always performance.

18 is about the biggest I would ever go on my 2011. Enough side wall to absorb impact and help grip, little enough to give a little more steering response.

Going to a 19" will not cause any TPMS warnings.......For some the harsher ride on the shorter sidewalls of a 19" may cause them to prefer an 18".
