Has anyone tried mounting a 16" Rim on a 2011 WRX Sedan?

The car's too new to be in a store's database at this point. I was looking at going down a size in rims and width for my snow tires. But without going to a store and having them test fit a number of rims to find out about clearance.

So has anyone already done this? I love the 17x8's in the dry, but I'm thinking a 16x7 would be a lot better for the winter. I'm just a little concerned that a 16" rim won't clear the breaks.

Looking at calculators, a 215/55R16 should give me just about the same circumference as the OEM tires.

i'm using 02-03wrx wheels 16x6.5.... got hankook Ipike 409w 215-55-16 mounted / balanced yesterday....

there's a pic of blue 11wrx wagon with 02-03wrx wheels fitted...

it's the same brakes 08-10wrx... and 16's is easily used.

Also, Robin2, how in the world did you get Plasma Blue on a WRX??? That isn't an STI in that pic, right? The wing is way to small.

WRX, he is in Canada. They get PBP instead of red.

yup.... this is going to be a question for a few years till USA gets this colour on the wrx...
