    I would get the hang of driving the dog box first, just being able to really be smooth, then start to worry about it.

    Please dont go around tearing up your WRXs tranny... buy a beater first.
    if you dont understand the basics of driving a standard and how a transmission works...you are asking these questions prematurely, no worries.

    1) what happends when the clutch is disengaged? -RPMs drop
    2) if your downshifting in that situation, what happends when you just re-engage the clutch at whatever RPM the engine speed fell to? is will shutter to adjust to the lower RPM.
    3) that is why you just "bump" the gas as Boosted2.5 said right after you hit the clutch and as you are shifting...still make sure to be smooth with your release of the clutch.
