I'm new to this forum and have had a 2014 wrx for a year which I just upgraded to a 2015 wrx. The 2015 is a salvaged title so it came with some surprises... it has a invidia j pipe and downpipe, a nameless mid pipe, and a nameless exhaust delete which I replaced with a stock still quadtip exhaust. Now I'm just wondering if the aftermarket parts are bad for the tune thus damaging the exhaust. I'm sorry I'm new to this so help is really appreciated.
Aftermarket parts affecting turbo performance are bad for the engine and car, not just the exhaust...if they aren't properly tuned for.
If you have no idea on whether or not the car was tuned, you should seek out a professional tuner to look into it.
Just the same: if you even put the other exhaust components back to stock, you may now have a tune on it for the parts you just took off, in which case could compromise the health of the engine. So...you should still seek out a professional tuner.
