So I just recently purchased an Invidia Downpipe and the Invidia Q300 Cat-back exhaust system for my 2013 WRX and was wondering if I were to flash the Stage 2 91 Octane map, would that map work well enough for me at high altitude here in colorado or do you recommend that I get it tuned just to be on the safe side. Im fairly new with the accessport and am wondering if anyone has tips for me.
Welcome!
Protuning is the best option.
A large number of members myself included use Cobb tuners.
I have 2 Dyno tunes on my AP.
Flash stage2 91 map and run some data logs.
Then post them so our tuners can look.
Also go to Cobbs website read the map notes, and watch the videos.
They will show how to datalog, and also the top 5 things to log.
Also use the AP as a gauge to watch and monitor performance.
Appreciate the response! ill look into it. I was just curious because the maps on the cobb website are designed for states at much lower altitude and I would think that much thinner air would have somewhat of an affect on my performance
I have a couple friends that know tuning.
They will see the post and offer advice.
But first and foremost we need to see the datalogs.
Once the car is all warmed up(Oil at operating temps) you want to do a third gear pull.
Start at 2,000 RPMS put the pedal to the floor and run it up to the redline.
Do this in a safe place like the highway on ramps getting on. (Traffic permitting)
Then we'll go from there.
You can also get in contact with cobb. The maps are universal so to say so they may work, you can send them logs and they may send back a revised map for you...I would just ask
You spent the money for their product, wouldn't be right for them to not try to make it work
