I've never heard of Iveytune or jr tune?
Can you give some more info?
Are these Pro tunes, Etunes where did you hear of them?
I'm curious.
And I like to learn about new things.

from what i hear are the best people to go to in east coast. Ivey tune tunes subaru eves and gtr specialist. He also did AMS cars before and have like 20 yrs of tuning experience….Jr tune based out of Prime motoring also highly recommended but he tunes really aggressive. I heard bad things and good things mostly good though. Thats why its a dilemma for me.TO answer your question these are PRO tunes

by any chance do you know if jr tune is reliable ? i know he tunes very aggressive
That's generally misinformation posted by people who don't know any better.

JR tunes some of the fastest Subarus in the country. He's one of the few people I would turn my laptop over to; even though I'm perfectly happy with my own tune, I've debated paying him to tune my car just to see how his mind works and see how we differ on approach.

I wasn't discrediting his work. I have heard GREAT things about him. I'm just fairly new to the whole car scene. I just want to be informed before getting into myself into bad trouble at is all(blown engine, blown tranny, etc) but i do know its also on how use my car

I don't know anything about JR, but I not too long ago called Iveytune to try to get my MR2 tuned on AEM. He came highly recommended by a guy I know who is big into EVOs (yeah I know) Well I don't know if that guy had pissed him off or something, and I am usually the last person to bash anyone, but this dude came off like a total asshat, and I get along with everybody and HATE leaving bad reviews... Like he didn't call me back at all, even after calling him 3 or 4 times. The first and only time I actually got him on the phone it went something like "dude I'm too busy so send me an email and maybe I'll get back to you sometime" which he didn't. I eventually felt like I was stalking him or something and all I was trying to do was give him my money and bring my car there for him to tune at his convenience so I just gave up on him (and lo and behold never heard back from him since). Maybe he's a great tuner, but I wouldn't want to have to deal with a follow up issue or retune with a guy like that. I ended up finding Chris from Xenocron who was a breath of fresh air after that experience and so far has been great to deal with. My car is going in on the 19th so if you want a follow up review pm me. They are local to us, have an awd dyno, and I have seen a bunch of Subarus outside so somebody must be able to vouch for them in the community. I have also used the great Jeff Evans who is something of a demigod in the tuner community but he is really far away and booked solid for months on end and I really didn't want to go to easton PA. But he was excellent. If I were tuning a Subaru I'd just have Matty (EJ257) do it but I don't know if he just does e tunes though...

You modify a car beyond the factory parameters, and things can happen.

JR is where it's at.

right now nothing to big. Finishing up my exhaust fabrication, injen cai sitting in my room, and i still need to buy DP and tune
nothing to big yet until i get an STI tranny
Honestly, any competent tuner can make you a S2 map (what you're asking for) that will make the car last forever, assuming the car wouldn't blow up in stock form (e.g., manufacturer defect or previous wear/tear). Depending on the car, a custom S2 tune could be safer than stock.

No reason to go with an STI transmission until your stock one grenades unless you like spending money.

gradually upgrade parts and keep it in the safe hp/torque area until i get the tranny. then i can blow the tranny cause i plan to go 400+ i don't think stock can take that is why i wanted to have one on stand by. i wanted to have a tuner and shop already as i go along

Cheaper / more reliable to start with an STI. Sell the WRX if that's honestly your plan...

not really if you look at all the components that going to be replace its better a wrx.
Say that all you want...I'm telling you it's cheaper to start on the STI platform than to modify a WRX to beat one.
