Take some time and read through this section of the forum --->Engine Modifications

Check out what other people have done here ---> Builds

Also, ask yourself this. What are your realistic goals and realistic budget. Then come back and tell us how much you want to spend.

The honest to god truth though...If you want to beat vettes (in a straight line dry road race)...You have the wrong car.

We've been having a similar discussion throughout the day in this thread ---> Upgrade suggestions

What are you planning on doing with the car? Drag racing, autoX, spirited daily driving? If you are looking to be faster than mustangs and vettes (like I said before), you should either significantly increase your budget, or get a rear wheel drive v8 car. I am in no way trying to indicate these are bad cars, or not fast, but they are not fast in a mustang/vette kind of way (without a crap ton of money dumping).

Well its my DD so I want it to be safe and not blow up but be fast enough to hang with the v8's. I mean it's fast and can beat everyone I have raced off the line. So looking to be faster at like 60 mph and up to 150 you know the freeway racing. My car stock did 140 and never topped it out and now it's cobb stage 2 idk how the top end is. Just seeing what I can do to gain more hps. But playing it safe

    You will need:
    1. Ceramic muffler bearings
    2. Synthetic boost fluid
    3. Adjustable power band
    4. 1.21 jiggawatt flux capacitor
    5. kevlar carburetor belts
    6. cross drilled brake lines
    7. engine oil bypass kit

Make sure to get it tuned on a butt dyno.............

Ha yeah right, good luck finding that 1.21 jiggawatt flux capacitor...every now and then one pops up on ebay but unless you have the time to sit in front of the computer and keep bidding on it you'll never get it.
