    36lbs on cobb stage1+ HELP !

Hey guys, my buddy has a 2014 WRX hatch. He's running the Cobb stage1+ 93 SF map. He is somehow reading 36lbs of boost every now and then, which we are both puzzled. I feel like the AP is reading wrong or he would have blown something up. (Stock turbo) He hasn't Datalogged during this, but took a picture after he saw what his AP read. Anyone else have this problem or see anything like this?
    Thanks Chris.

-9.35 is realtime. Bottom right of the "Boost" Gauge was peak boost.

Yes but he obviously couldn't take a picture/expect for that too happen. It's only happened 2/3 times since he went stage1 (about a week).

fuel cut, loss of power, spike in power followed by bucking/loss of power?

None of that which is why I'm pretty sure it's a mis read somewhere. I know fuel would get cut before a certain amount of boost. And no CEL.

36 PSI is probably the manifold absolute pressure, not relative pressure. Manifold absolute pressure is the total pressure in the manifold (14.7 PSI or 1 atmosphere + boost pressure). Even then, however, this means that you are having boost spikes upwards of 22 PSI.

    I'd give Cobb a call.

P_abs = P_gauge + P_atm ...just in case anyone forgot that formula. I'm here for you. Otto Cycle FTW....

Either it's reading absolute pressure, or it's wrong. The stock MAP sensor pegs out at 23.5psi, so even if you really did hit 36psi, it would only read 23.5psi.
