    Knock with new Forge BPV

    Whats up,
Just installed Forge BPV (11 wrx, catted TBE, PW TMIC, 3port, CAI, Protuned 91 cali gas) and getting knock at full throttle roughly 2-4 lines worth then goes away a couple of hundred rpms later, can post log if interested. Previous log with stock on, no knock. Getting it looked at by my tuner on Wed, but just wanted some info as to what would cause this ( ie wrong spring, spacer, etc...). Thanks

A quick edit, looking at the log Im only getting knock (-2.8 right before, during, and after peak boost). I am running the yellow spring rated at 15-23 psi and my target boost is 20.5. Thanks

Upload your log to Google Docs (make it public)

Is the knock repeatable? Is this a tank filled with your regular fuel ("regular" in this context isn't referring to octane)?

Where did you order your forge bpv from? I'm looking to buy one.

Im always running chevron and yes its repeatable. The only difference was putting on the valve. Here is the link. It wasn't a 3rd gear pull, just some short driving around after I put it on. As you can see its right around peak boost. Thanks for any info.

I think it was import image racing where I bought it.

7l autosport in chino hills, ca, had no knock at fullthrottle-full boost, and then over the weekend just put on the forge bpv, I had no idea it would cause knock, just thinking maybe I have the wrong spring in, what are your thoughts?

I don't think it's the valve, assuming it's installed properly.

Was the tune a dyno tune or a road tune? If a dyno tune, was there a cleanup road tune done afterwards?

No leaks and installed properly, it was dyno tuned and also then a street tune afterwards. I'm getting it looked at later this week for another issue I was getting which it was over boosting a little bit. I'll post a pre bpv log in just a second to show you the no knock at full throttle- boost.

Here is a link for pre bpv log. As you can see at full throttle-boost there is no knock but also you can see the ignition timing is a little higher in the pre bpv log. With the Forge bpv on you can see the timing between 3-6. Any thoughts on that? Thanks

Put the stock valve back on to verify it is the valve causing the problem.

Put the stock back on and yes it is still knocking. So its not the valve. Next question, how and why would the tune change? It was doing fine with no knock and now it is. I'm stumped.

Chevron, yes, but a different station than I normally go to. Is it as simple as that?

How long ago did you get the tune? The tuner should be willing to trouble shoot it if it were recently
