    Factory Tune sucks!!!!

I just got my Nameless Performance Axle back Muffler delete on. I was taking a few runs through 3rd and the WRX is fast but WOT is not smooth at all you can feel it hesitate around 3000-4000 rpms then start to pull up to red line. Is this what you guys have been talking about. I'm about tempted to reflash stage 1 with my accessport just been trying to get more miles in it currently at 450 miles right now.

Yes, the stock tune is pretty bad. It was built for "safety" in a variety of climates, driving conditions, etc.

Wait until you're over 1000 miles and go stage 1.

That's what I plan on doing but you would think they could do better than that. LOL

Haha! Subaru's start life as little piggies. It's up to us to mold them into....(insert another animal that is better than a pig).

Take a long trip break in the engine, it gets better.

Stock tune does blow, I had very noticeable inconsistencies in my boost curve on the stock tune. Totally agree with break it in, then stage1. And if you respect yourself, start saving for an EBCS, DP and Intake.....Stg2 is reliable, pretty safe since our engines have been out for years now, and MAN DOES IT LIVEN UP THE CAR!

Good luck with it, even Stg1 will give you a much more fulfilling experience when writing that payment check every month. And if you paid cash...well good for you there too!

Stage 2 is in the works I figure I'll wait till stage 1 gets old then upgrade to stage 2.

Do you have any credible evidence?

It pains me to see people so blindly jump to conclusions.

Me? I may have a log from when I was stock and just got my Tactrix and RR working. I'll look for it. And sorry if my terminology is off, I'm no guru by any shot. However, the jerky-ness in boost of my stock tune was VERY noticeable.

Stage 1 became old when my car hit 3000 miles Now I'm Stage 2 with Torque Performance map at 4200 miles. Never will I go back to Stage 1.

Zax you can feel the tune is no even close to being smooth. The Subaru engineers should have been able to do a better job than they have. I have owned many Supercharged and Turbo vehicles and none of them felt this unrefined. Now don't get me wrong I love my WRX and it runs strong but it seems as if the tune is all over the place.
