so have you used ecuflash to read your rom off your ecu so you can edit it in romraider?

So Im trying to opensource tune my 2005wrx. Ive downloaded all the programs that other forums say I need to get it all to work. BUT Romraider ECU editor doesnt req the ECU def Ive downloaded the logger def and works fine. Ive unziped the file tried puting it in the romraider folder tired puting it on my desktop but no luck. When I open the ecu editor it doesnt say it anything it just opens and doesnt show any map or any read out. I just cant seem to get the car def to work has anyone had the same trouble or know how to fix this? Yes Im new to this and Im reading forums and learning but I cant get anywhere If the programs wont work lol thanks to anyone that can help

You've added the XML file in the ECU Definitions Manager?

yes i pulled the map with ecuflash tried saving it to have a base map just incase and when i tried to find it well its is lost somwhere lol and yes i added the xml file. i get car def file not found when I open the logger and no message when I open editor

so I saved another copy of the ecu when I try to open the image under romraider i have to change the file type to all files to find it and it says unable to read xml def. please make sure the def file is correct. like I said I am new at this so I dont know how to get romraider to open it any help out there?
Did you read the Romraider FAQ's entirely? 99% of the time it is user error. You have to tell Romraider where the definitions are.
