tuning software

I work at a performance shop we tune all kinds of cars. they said they could tune my car if i get the right software. whats the best software for my 2002 2.2l wrx?

What experience do you have tuning cars? What do you mean by "software"? There are two prominent ecosystems out right now, although there are many options out there. Cobb and OpenSource are the most common today. Cobb tuning requires an Accessport and AccessTuner Race. That would be a $695 outlay for your car, and includes the accessport and tuning software.

If they want YOU to get the "right" software, then I would take it elsewhere. Anyone with OpenSource Subaru tuning experience will already have the software (it's free) and a ton of previous maps to work from. From the sound of it these guys don't have a clue what they're doing, and tuning a Subaru isn't like tuning an Evo or anything else. Inexperience will blow up a Subaru engine in no time.
