    Blue vag-com cable?? Does it work?

    So is it true that I can I just buy this 9 dollar blue vag com Cable off eBay instead of the Tactrix? Will this work or is what I've read complete bs? Because if it does work that's quite a bit cheaper then the Tactrix....

    No. You need the genuine Tactrix 2.0 cable on the '08+ cars.

    From what I've read, there's still a timing issue with 02-03 cars, but there's a lot of positive feedback from 04-07 guys.

    Actually, if I recall correctly, 2006 started using CAN Bus. 02/03 is iffy and a pain in the ass to find info on. 04/05 works great.
    Did ~2 weeks of research before buying just to be sure =)
    And if I recall correctly, you can log with all other years, don't quote me on it. I was specifically looking for MY05 info.

    It can work for an 02-03 wrx but you need to do some modifications to the chip inside the cable.
    A write up can be found here. NASIOC - Anyone try the BFM cable?

    I did this and it works great, you just need some soldering skills and patience
