If you have AP V1 you donot have this ability. If you have AP V2,you obviously have not read the instructions yet.

The dyno feature isn't working right (for me either). Be patient and they (Cobb) will have an update out soon to fix it. The 1/4 miles feature works but is not accurate. Go to your local dragstrip for real results (and safety).

What firmware version are you running?

The 0-60 time should be pretty accurate. I mean, the ECU knows the vehicle speed and the AP can keep track of elapsed time.

i was told it was a v2 from the guy i bought it from and im pretty sure it is (its in color dont only the v2s have that?)

second i have read the instuctions but i dont see it saying HOW to do it anywhere, i do not mean to sound rude but if you are just going to give smart answers please do not waste either of our time, it would be twice as easy and very appreciated if you could just give me an answer.

thanks

and for the guy who said his dyno feature is not working proper, where even is the dyno feature? i have been looking through everything and cant find it

Does it look like this?

Then it's a New AccessPORT (v2).

When you first start it up, it should say "live data" on the screen. If you scroll up to the next option it should be performance or something like that, I can't exactly remember as I'm not in my car, it's in there.

Just turn it on and play around with it. Scroll through and explore in all the menus, then your AP will have no secrets from you.

I'm running 1.2.6.7 (latest version? Maybe I don't have the numbers right. I downloaded it last week).

Dyno didn't work for me. The 0-60 and 1/4 did, just don't know if I trust it.

Ease up on the new guy. The AP is not easy to newcomers.

yea it does look like the one in the picture im not sure what it says right when i turn it on but ill check next time. Im currently stg 1 (just waiting on my dp and up to go stg 2) but if the map is flashed or w/e does that mean it is on my car no matter what even if i unplug the AP? because i dont really like that wire hanging down while i drive lol

and im not sure about the times either, but then again im not launching my car AT ALL, bit off subject but does anyone know a good way to launch without dumping the clutch lol.

Since you bought it used, the guy may not have updated it in a while. If that is the case, the firmware you are running may not have the Performance features. Here is page that explains how to update the firmware (AP Updater isn't available til 8/25).

CobbTuning.com - Subaru Firmware: 1.2.8

There are two ways to apply a map to your ECU; your base map and a real time map. Your base map is flashed to the ECU and will remain until the ECU is flashed again. You can unplug the AP and disconnect the batter (cutting power to the ECU) and your base map will remain. Your base map should be the one that matches your mods, i.e. you shouldn't have the valet map as your base map and stage 2 as your real time map, if you are stage 2.
A real time map can be applied over the base map and is erased when the battery is disconnected.

You don't need the AP plugged in unless you are monitoring data.

Slip the clutch.Launch Control helps too but Cobb only has that for the 2.5L WRX's and STi right now (retarded).Since I use Opensource software I have patched in Launch Control into the stock ECU programing thanks to Tiny Wrex's handywork.

definitely update your firmware. once you plug in the AP you should be able to scroll through the settings
go to: dynometer.

then you'll have 3 options: 1/4time. 0-60time. hp.tq

once you select the hp/tq, it'll ask you to select the weight of your car, select a gear, and the RPM range you want.

you'll have to experiment in order to figure out the perfect test gear/rpm range though.

its a little tricky to actually get it to work properly though... lets say you set it for 3rd gear/ 2k-6k rpms. you have to keep the car under 2k rpms in 3rd gear, and let it sit for a bit to register into the AP. then it will tell you to floor it.

sorry im kind of rambling. but yeah. when i did the test, it told me i had 179 hp.... yeahno.

it probably means 179 crank j/k

I have never put much stock in performance meters, none I have ever heard of have been that accurate. I have a performance meter on my MSD DashHawk and I have never even used it.
