Question Good roads in the Poconos?

Hey guys. I'm heading to the Poconos this weekend with my girlfriend to celebrate our anniversary. I know there has to be some nice mountain winding roads up there. So, can anyone let me know which roads I just have to drive on? I really haven't driven on any nice twisty roads in my rex yet, and something tells me I'm missing out on something...

There are SOOOO many good roads in the Poconos. Just get off the main highways and you'll have fun.

The place where we're going to be staying is the Ramada Inn of Lake Harmony, PA located on Rt 940 (I-80 exit 42). I can't wait to experience the roads up there! I'm really looking forward to it, not to mention that we have a private jacuzzi in the bedroom...

I don't know of any good roads around the Lake Harmony area...

    closer to me...I know plenty.

If you start in Belvediere, NJ

You cross the free metal bridge into PA (Riverton)

After the bridge, make a right turn onto Riverton Rd

Stop sign, sharp right up the hill (River Rd)

Stop sign, turn right and continue on River Rd

Cross the rail road tracks and under the bridge...

    Stop light, continue straight.

Enter the Delaware Water Gap (25 mph!!!!)

Stop light, make a right onto Broad Street

Pass the PA Welcome Center (Pit stop if you need to), then make a right onto another River Rd.

Stop sign (there's a bar), right, and continue on River Rd.

Continue through the DWG National Rec area....

When you see a yellow-black left intersection sign, prepare to make a left onto Hidden Lake Drive

Follow Hidden Lake Drive to stop sign (Hollow Rd)

    Left on Hollow Rd

Stop sign...right on River Rd (again)

Left on Buttermilk Falls Rd ("major intersection"

Right on Mt. Nebo Rd (sharp right)

Stop Sign (Flea Market), left on Milford Rd (Route 209)

4th Traffic Light, Right on Rte 447

Traffic Light, continue Straight, Rte 191/447

See left intersection sign, Church on Left, make left onto Cherry Lane Rd

Intersection, right, stop sign, Club House Dr.

Stop sign continue straight, becomes begin Rte 314

Stop sign, left and continue Rte 314

Traffic Light, right on Rte 611.

Left on Rte 314 (small intersection, watch for the sign)

Junction Rte 940...south (or was it west?) .... get on I-380 South, then back onto I-80 West.

    That's a major detour.

So we got back a few hours ago. I'm exhausted, but we had a great time! The roads are definately nothing like what I am used to in the suburbs of South Jersey. When we got there on Friday, there were only a few cars in the whole parking lot. We chilled inside at the pool, rec rooms, etc. until Saturday night when we decided to head out to some local attractions. That is when I was surprised to see a parking lot full of BMW's and Porsches . It was crazy! There were at least 20 M3's, old and new, in the parking lot, and like a dozen Porsches as well. There was even an M coupe parked next me. I noticed that every one of these awesome cars had white numbers on their windows, so I quickly realized what was going on. When I took a closer look at a white Carrera, I noticed he had racing gloves on his dash and a helmet on the passenger seat. It was really an awesome site seeing all these hot cars all in row! I found out this morning at check out that they have BMW and Posche track days at the local Pocono Raceway and apparently every weekend they stay at the Ramada Inn of Lake Harmony. All in all, we had a great time and I can't wait to come back again!
