Just curious will this be bracket racing? Or straight up racing? If its straight up you better hope a whole lot of fast ass imports show up to stand a chance.

hahahaha... dont worry... for imports to even stand a chance...
    its Bracket Racing...
usually 5 REAL imports end up against like 20 cars owned by 40yr old men who have been racing since the track was built...
the rest are just ricers who dont kno what they're doing & just make asses out of themselves

Ok just checking. Theres just no way a couple of fast imports and a bunch of ricers could take on a bunch of old guys who laugh at 12 sec passes.

So did anyone end up going?

I got there by about 2 pm, and ran into some MR2 club guys I knew from autcrosses. I watched until 4 pm and left. It was actually a pretty good show. My first time there. The track was a little slick, so the big engine RWD domestics had a little trouble getting the power down. Since it was bracket racing, just about every car imaginable was there. My favorite match up was the Lincoln Navigator vs. the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The WRXs ran consistent mid 13s. They all had stock turbos. I'd definitely go again to watch. Maybe even run someday.

The most impressive run was a 12 sec Civic hatch that started nice and slow, caught up to and then beat a 5.0 Mustang that had a good four car-length lead.

I was there, and I wasn't too impressed.
It was great to see a couple of WRX's running 13's(I believe there was a 13.1x run in there too...), but I cant stand all the HondAcuras and Mustangs. I agree that watching that Nav/Jeep run was cool.
I think Atco usually has cooler cars turn out. More of a diverse crowd.
    Just my 2 cents.

Hey now, the crowd was the best part. It seemed to me that every guy there either had a mullet and baseball cap on or a shaved head with a hoody on. It was a very YOUNG crowd nonetheless. The thing I noticed was just how different the people at that dragstrip were from people at autocrosses/ road course events. I had a lot of fun watching anyway.

E-Town is crazy hoody/redneck-ville. You get one or the other and always to the extreme!!! Its kinda scary sometimes how cliche and typical the people are there.

Sounds like a good day, sorry I missed it, but I was at an installfest

I wasn't knocking the crowd, they were there watch racing. I can't down that.
What I was, for lack of a better word, upset by was the lack of diversity in the cars.
Yeah there was a 502 powered Jag, and a couple of nice older muscle cars(that Dart was sick!), it seemed mostly Honda and Mustang.
I will probably go to all four of the races, but it's a long drive to see that kind of showing(i'm only 20 mins. from Atco).
I still had a good time, aside from freezing my a$$ off on the metal bleachers .
    that's all i'm saying...

I wasn't getting on your case at all, I was just making light of the crowd.

But you're right, there really was a dearth of different cars out there. Mustangs and Civics by the dozen.... And the odd old Chevy Blazer ... remember that beat up white one?
