When you're out on the autox course it doesn't matter what you are.

I need new tires. Any suggestions?

And to stay on topic I'm putting my summers on as soon as I buy them. Unfortunately I have to replace my downpipe and headers as well as a possible slipped bearing... lol. So my tires aren't too big of a concern, obviously.

Well, we're having a bit of a chat thread. What are your requirements for these new tires? Price? Performance, dry or wet?

I have Fuzion ZRi's on my summer wheels... only ok performance, but they were priced right.

I'm putting them on tomorrow (3/28) if i have time. If not, Saturday(3/31).

I've never been to an auto-x event, I would like to get involved this summer. I need to do some research and find out whats going on at Etown since thats the closest track to me.

Well let's see here... Price... Whatever I can afford after new headers and downpipe (haha any recommendations on those too? looking at cobb, avo, invidia, JIC... can't decide) and possibly a rebuilt engine... So maybe i'll just kick some kids off their bikes and use those tires lol, or mortgage my parents house from under them!

Performance... Eek. Well i had s03's on before... those were... well... sexy to say the least. If I get this new job I won't mind spending $200+ a tire. If I don't get this job, then It'll hurt to spend $200+ a tire but i am a masochist.

Dry or wet.. mm... well... Not sure how to answer that, (aside from saying dry or wet, lol). Pretend I don't know this one.

I've got a nice set of prodrive rims so I'll save some money on the wheels at least.

High Performance tire with good wet performance and decent tread life: Falken ZE-512 or FK-452

Ultra Performance tire with decent wet performance and reasonable tread life:
    Hankook RS2-Z212

Take tires and wheels to a professional installer. If you need to ask how to then put the wheels and tires on the car, then you may want to have the professionals do the whole job.
