    Dogfish Head Brewery Meet

    Gentlemen,

This is a little project JR and I have been kicking around.

This would be a run to/meet at the Dogfish Head Brewing Companies pub in Rehoboth Beach DE.

    http://www.dogfish.com/eats/DFH_Brew...th/1/index.htm

We have 3 things that need to be decided.

    Question 1

Who's interested in a good long drive culminating in very good local beer?

    Question 2

When? I'd like to schedule it before Memorial day to minimize the traffic, but late enough to have reasonably decent (read as warmer) weather.

The poll is only for options, not the definitive choices.

    Question 3

    What route?

We have 2 options- meet then caravan through South Jersey to the Cape May ferry or meet in Delaware(probably Christiana Mall) and caravan across Delaware. The milage is pretty similar. The ferry seems like an interesting twist, but is a bit more expensive.

I need to wait for the SCCA Solo summer schedule to be posted. I am sure JR does too.

I would opt for pre-Memorial day. Shore traffic sucks - should we make it earlier?

These were my thoughts, my preference would be early to mid May.(I even voted that way ) Memorial Day weekend is May 25th-28th.

Gives plenty of time to set schedules up, reasonably warm, and before the season rush starts.

Rates for the Cape May - Lewes Ferry http://www.capemaylewesferry.com/sch...schedfares.asp

Looks like you could get discounts if purchased in bulk. The only thing I would worry about is whether our group would be split between two ferries if there are a large amount of other cars queued up. I can't imagine the traffic would be that bad pre-memorial day.

I like this idea, but am unsure if it will fly...

In May, before Memorial day, it'd be about $50 round trip for a car and driver w/ no passenger. The value pack(6 cars) would be about $40/car round trip. Passengers are a couple of bucks extra...

We could split it and go one way on the ferry and one way through DE, as well...

I gotta say the nay no to 6/2. The STPR rally is that weekend.

Pre-Memorial Day seems like a good idea.

The ferry would be a sweet idea, too. Subies on a boat sounds like a good time (and a possible sequel to Snakes on a Plane).

Jesse, thank you very much for posting up this thread. This was on my list of things to work on.

The ferry idead does sound very cool, but I would be worried about all the logistics of it. I think meeting at Christiana Mall would be the easiest. It would also allow some folks from MD and the DC area to join in on the fun.

However if people are up for the ferry, we can give that a try.

    Mmmm.... yummy.

Looks like 5/6 is the May PA AutoX, which is no problem. Are you waiting on the reschedule of the 26th?

5/6 won't work for Bill and I. AutoX at Warminster that day.

    Does 5/19 not work?
