    Jersey Registration Question

    Jersey people,

I started to renew my registration yesterday, when I noticed my renewal charge seemed a bit high. After a little research, I found out my car is listed as a class 8 vehicle. A class 8 vehicle is a vehicle w/ a curb weight greater than 3500 lbs. After a little more searching, I'm coming up w/ a curb weight on a 2002 WRX of ~3096 lbs. It's only about a $30 difference, but it's more about the principle(the NJ tax wh0res take enough already IMO).

I'd be appreciative if some of you could check on your registrations, and post the weight class the state has you listed under. In the line under your VIN, it will be on the right hand side. It looks like this--> WC:8

Heck, maybe some of us can save a couple bones...

    I'll check at lunch.

    Update:
    GVWR ~4100lbs.
    Load capacity ~900lbs
    so
    Vehicle weight is ~ 3200lbs.

Stop whining. In Arizona, your car would cost about $300 to register.

A guy I work with just bought a Lexus GS430 and paid $1300 for his registration for 2007.

"No, I made a couple of mistakes."

If I recall correctly though, you don't have inspection or pay $5000/yr in property taxes on a $200,000 house... It's just a different pocket

No inspection, but property taxes are kind of steep. But not that bad, IIRC.
