Don't think I can do that weekend, but this sounds like a cool event. Also, the Spinnerstown Hotel is a great place for some good food, with an impressive beer list! Good luck!

The Philly region of SCCA will be holding a charity rally on Saturday December 15 to benefit Philabundance Food Bank. We're making the best out of having to scrap an October rally and building up some good karma at the same time. Philabundance was chose because the holidays are a tough time of year for them. A lot of the area's charity resources move towards more seasonal charities and away from their year round mission, and people always need to eat. Also, the rallymaster is a huge fan of food (as evidenced by his waistline).
So here's the skinny:
What: The Food Drive
When: Saturday, December 15. Registration opens at 3:45PM, First car off at 4:45PM Charity rallies are approx. 2 hours in length due to insurance constraints
Where: We'll begin at the Trainers Corner Shopping Center in Quakertown in near the K-Mart (look for the checkpoint sign), address: Kmart, 246 N West End Blvd, Quakertown, PA 18951. The rally will cover roads in northern Bucks and Southern Lehigh and Northampton Counties. We will end this rally at the Spinnerstown Hotel - Spinnerstown Hotel - with dinner, awards and merriment at 7:30. There is a bar if you would like a beverage before dinner as competitors arrive. :toast:
Why: 1 rally for the year is not enough. Many roads were scouted for the cancelled fall event and that can‘t go to waste. Rallies at sundown are fun. People need to eat. You’re bored because the rest of the season is over.
How: This will be a course style rally (directions will be appropriate for night time driving) with a time gimmick to be announced at the time you get your specific instructions. Your time and your mileage will be factors in your score.
Cost: Here’s how we’ll benefit the food bank. Each team will need to bring 5 items to donate to Philabundance. If you bring more than 5 items you’re final score will receive a benefit!! Non-Scca members will need to purchase a weekend membership for the event (sorry folks, insurance) which is $5 per non-member. Please bring exact cash. The cost of the insurance for members is being covered by the region. Dinner is a sit down dinner at the hotel, that cost is up to your appetite.
The items that we can accept for donation are:
Canned/ Shelf-stable tuna
Macaroni and Cheese
Canned Pasta
Canned Beef Stew
Canned Chili
Creamy Peanut Butter
Jelly
Canned Green Beans
Canned Corn
Canned Fruit
Breakfast Cereal and Hot Cereal
Please remember that you will be signing the usual SCCA waivers, inspection & insurance verifications. Check out the rulebook here is you aren’t sure: 404 - File Not Found ... %205x8.pdf

Important items to note:
You’ll need a warning triangle or 6 15-minute road flares in the car since the is a night rally. Sundown is before the first car goes out.
You may want a small flashlight to read instructions. A sponsor has donated lighted pens for the event in case you don’t have one, though. Bring a clipboard, too. It will make life easier.
This rally is limited to 20 cars and we’d like to give the hotel a final head count by December 10. If you’d like to enter, please do it right away!
Should you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the rally master at mbs627 at g mail dotcom or find him on Facebook through the regions page: Jonathan M. Love.
Let’s rally!
