Did u own a silver bugeye wrx u traded into wayne subaru a year or 2 ago? !?

I'm trying to find the old owner of my car because I am very curious to know what all these aftermarket switches on it are for and if there is anything else done to it that I need to know about because I am having major issues with it. I bought it from Wayne Subaru on Hamburg turnpike and its an 02 Silver bugeye wrx with well over 200,000 miles on it. I love the car I've had it for over a year and I havent had issues with it until recently and I'm just curious to talk to the previous owner ! It's got STI stickers on it, it came with brembo rotors that were totally warped & has clubwrx stickers on it also. Zero sport replica rear bumper which wasnt painted.. pllllease if you owned this car message me or reply! lol

Post some pics of the "switches."

Did you get a compression test done on the car before purchasing? With that many possible mods, high mileage, and "hard starts" you may have bad compression.

I dont know if I had a compression test done...but its been two years since I got it and I havent always had these problems. The boosting issue comes and goes and the not starting just happened when I got it back after sitting for a while and it back on the road n then it got hit.

Trace the wiring back for those switches... see what they're plugged into. I would be very concerned about boosting issues, as it is more than likely the ECU pulling boost due to major knock events detected. What mods are on the car and do you have some form of engine management?

Pics of engine? If I had to guess, the switch is for a DIY intercooler sprayer. I have a similar DIY system, but it uses the STI button and tank, so it looks OEM.

That is one badass toggle switch. It's orange,so must be dangerous,lol.

There is hosing underneath the hood that would look like it sprays into the intercooler.. thats what we originally thought. And I dont know what is done to the car, thats why I want to find out who had it before me ;( I was never really into Subarus, me and the boyfriend are big into Volkswagens so this is all unfamiliar territory. Theres a huge mess of wires underneath the dash that I cant get to see where that dumb little black switch goes to, the middle one im not too concerned with , probably leds or something, but that weird ass one with the cover I'm just very curious about. Thanks for all the input.. now I just wish who had the car before me would come foward

Likely not. A member of these boards would have researched and modded appropriately. Even if what you say is true, do you think the member (who sold his/her car years prior) would venture back onto this forum? Doubtful. Instead, let's take the more immediate route... post pics of your engine bay.
