Depends on your local deal honestly. If you can get it for 500 over invoice it would be about the same as buying from me after shipping.

I have a buddy who missed the order deadline (big dummy). Anyway i have a couple of quick questions regarding remaining 2013's:

    1. How far distance-wise can a dealer search for cars in the pipeline, yet to be delivered and dedicated to a specific dealer?
    2. Is the entire pipeline visible, through the last delivery? (or just like the next several weeks)

He's looking for a base WRB 5-door and nobody seems to be able to find one. I know the base models are a little fewer and farther between, but the dealers are indicating that they can see the entire pipeline for a 4-6 state area and there is only 1 heading to the Midwest. Unfortunately, it is spoken for already.

Let me know what you think and thanks in advance for your help!

In SDC we can search within a 250 mile radius, not sure if it is the same for your region though since I think you guys have a different system out there. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "is the entire pipeline visible" But if dealers are telling you there is no WRB car in the region I don't see any reason for them to lie to you, they would certainly prefer to sell you the car and make a profit if it were still available.

price wise I could beat that by a significant amount, but I don't know if it would be much less with shipping. I think it would be around $300 cheaper to get the car from me after all is said and done.

By pipeline, I mean, cars that are in production and don't have a VIN yet. These would be the vehicles that Subaru would be finishing up for shipment and destined for dealers, which would allow for the dealers to have some stock to hold them through until new orders being taken, and 2014's being delivered.

I'm not sure if Subaru actually does this or not, I guess I assumed it would be a good business decision to keep some cars available, besides the last ones built-to-order so that there are WRX's available for purchase (read generating profit) until the new 2014's become available.

Hey Clayton. Sorry I forgot to call last week and talk about the financing stuff. But I wanted to be at a $400 a month payment, that’s the big thing I wanted to figure out.

Having to wait for an ordered WRX is going to make this the longest summer ever.
