First, there is no harm in modding at 2K mi, if you do it right, and don't beat on the thing excessively, many of us start modding early.

The major key is DO IT RIGHT. Take your time a research thoroughly before doing anything. See if there are any other WRX/STi owners in your area with mods you are thinking about that you can hear/see. And when you think you have researched enough and are ready to start, pause and research a bit more. The last thing you want to do is blow-up or wreck that $40K toy daddy bought you.
