Think I heard on the radio that the last measurable October snow in the Philly area was 0.3" in 1979.

The last snow measuring 1" or more was in 1949. Way before my time.

In the last 2 years we have had substantial snow in the middle of October. 2yrs ago we spent 2 days after the snow opening roads from trees down.

WTF its October!

Yep. Despite the temps being above freezing (barely at 33 - 34) the snow has come down so heavy it accumulated more than I was expecting.

The lights have flickered several times. I'm hoping the power does not go out. This sucks!

Got the call at 4:30 am to go to work. I just got home. If it would have started as snow instead of rain we would have gotten more than the 4 inches we got. The temps really helped get things cleaned up fast. I should have gotten some vids and pics of the rooster tails of snow coming off the plow. Wet snow like this flies far at 25mph.

By the looks of the radar and a peek outside it is finally tapering off. What I shoveled is still clear. It going all the way up to 42 with sun tomorrow. That should melt a fair amount of the slush. The average maximum and minimum temps this time of year are 60 and 39.
