Hey guys, new to the WRX/STI forum. I live in Philly but I'm originally from the Princeton area in NJ. I'm currently looking at trading in my Audi TT for a new 2011 WRX or STi. I kinda have my heart set on financing an STi but I wanna hear the forum out about the WRX or STi. Any new 2011 owners out there that can shed some light as I make my decision? Thanks!

Thanks for the welcoming guys. I've decided to go with a WRX to prevent having to live paycheck to paycheck ha. The only problem is most dealerships no longer have any WRXs available since they have flying off the show room floor. I was told I will have to wait for the 2012 shipment from Japan which will likely come in around August...
What are your opinions on the hatch vs. sedan. I honestly have not made up my mind on which body style I want yet. And don't get me started on the colors, I would be open to the DGM, Black, or White. So many choices...
I'm a hatch guy. It's more useful, and I prefer the aesthetic. It is personal preference, though.

I agree, I think either way it will be a completely new experience for me. I'm use to being in a car where it only sits two and now I'll have backseats and trunk space... whatttt... I can see my choice coming from what is available at the moment. I've actually found some DGM hatches at a few dealers so I may have to jump on it (pending how much they offer on my trade), then I can finally be a full-fledge member of the forum!
Welcome. You don't have to have a car to be a " full-fledged" member.I'm also biased towards the hatches maybe bcoz I have one.The extra space always comes in handy. And just looks better IMO.SWP is a great color if you can find one.

Ooh,hang on. That is the throb of a turbocharged flat four engine. A sound which, all over the world, heralds the imminent arrival of a moron - JC.
I <3 the hatch. I wish they offered them when I bought my STi.
Had a thousand posts here before I picked my STi up in March =P
You'll have to read around a bit. The more you read, the more differences you notice between the STi and the WRX trims. I'd say if you can comfortably afford it, get the STi. Everybody has different opinions, and there is a lot you can do with that 8k difference between the trim packages.
Also, WRB hatches are by far the best out there. Just stating a simple fact.

Very cool - I would have pushed the benefits of the WRX 5-door, but looks like you are set now. Only problem you'll find is that the DGM versions are much faster than the other color choices. C'est la vie - you'll love it anyway!
Have fun with the new car.![]()
