Needing a good and reasonable mechanic - East Bronx/Pellham Area

    Hey y'all

My car (Saab 9-2x) is just about paid off and I'm wondering if I should keep it or not. I want to take to a good, not-too-expensive, mechanic for a once over. Anyone know a good one in the in or around the East Bronx, or New Rochelle NY area? I might just take it to my local Subaru dealer but the labor rates are steep!

On a related note - when should one replace the struts - my car has 87K miles on it - its gotta be about time to change them out, right?

    Thanks!

    Not sure on the area...

But if your struts aren't busted, then there's no reason to replace them.

Your concerns should be more focused on replacing the timing belt, water pump, and thermostat instead (between 90 and 100k). 90k should be about time for a Tranny Fluid change as well.
