It would be much simpler to do a trunk swap.... plus you'll need the pneumatic struts from the STi trunk.

As far as actual work, I would say it is roughly the same. If you swap trunks you need to pull the trunk, key lock, some bolts and the torsion bars. To add a wing, you simply need to have the torsion bars, the wing, and drill a few a holes.

I found a sti wing for my wrx a few months back, purchased it and the torsion bars for $75.

Just keep looking, it WILL take a while

Was your bugeye wingless? IIRC, there are like 21 holes for the WRX wing vs. 6 holes for the STi wing, so the big PITA is filling the other 15 holes... but of course that's for the 2002-2007 WRX...

    Yes, I said filling holes

I think we need to clarify some things. You have a Red WRX and want a Black STI wing.
Do you have sedan or hatchback?

The STI Sedan reentered production for Model year 2011.

You should realize that you have just increased your chance of a rear-end collision in inclement weather, plus it may not be DOT legal...

Whoops. Didn't see that. In this case a trunk swap wouldn't really be applicable. Your best bet is to look in the classifieds or purchase the spoiler from Subaru

It's unpainted, but it's not too expensive.

I don't think too many people are going to give up their stock sti hatchback wing.

I had the small wrx wing on my bugeye. You mixed up the numbers though, there are like 18 on the sti spoiler and 6 for the wrx, so i only had to drill 12 holes

Agree. Isn't the STI spoiler just longer than the wrx? If so, then IMO its not even worth it.
