As far as actual work, I would say it is roughly the same. If you swap trunks you need to pull the trunk, key lock, some bolts and the torsion bars. To add a wing, you simply need to have the torsion bars, the wing, and drill a few a holes.
I found a sti wing for my wrx a few months back, purchased it and the torsion bars for $75.
Just keep looking, it WILL take a while

Whoops. Didn't see that. In this case a trunk swap wouldn't really be applicable. Your best bet is to look in the classifieds or purchase the spoiler from Subaru

It's unpainted, but it's not too expensive.
I don't think too many people are going to give up their stock sti hatchback wing.
I had the small wrx wing on my bugeye. You mixed up the numbers though, there are like 18 on the sti spoiler and 6 for the wrx, so i only had to drill 12 holes
Agree. Isn't the STI spoiler just longer than the wrx? If so, then IMO its not even worth it.
