My favorite part of Wegmans is the cheese section soooo many choices I love it.

i noticed you were in central jersey, which local one are you referring to? closest one to me is in bridgewater.

I do all my food shopping at Wegmans. Their prices are surprisingly low and their deli, butcher, seafood, and specialties are the best quality.

And the Mediterranean bar!? Fresh Mozz, roasted peppers, roasted garlic cloves, olives for days...incredible.

Plus, their Wegmans Generic brand is all very good quality food!

Wow Cali would be quite the change. We can buy beer and liquor in convenience stores, grocery stores, gas stations, liquor stores, you name it. Having traveled around the country I believe it to be the most universally accepting of alcohol.

-I know in Utah, you can't buy beer Sunday, and I think liquor is liquor store only.
-In Oklahoma same except the beer is really "near beer". ABV of budlight there is 2.9%.
-Oregon you have to go to the Liquor store for everything but beer.
-In South Carolina, you couldn't buy beer on Sunday, liquor only from a liquor store, and if you went to a bar and asked for a Jack and Coke, you got an Airplane shot bottle of JAck and a whole coke.

I posted about this a few months back, but you all know the Wegman's in Malvern (Rt 30 and Rt 29)has a BAR in it. No tipping allowed. A pint goes from $3-$4, including Victory, Guiness, Lager, etc. Good food prepared there as well.

You can buy takeout beer and a pizza (or whatever) there and eat and drink it on the premises. It's awesome...

It's a freakin grocery store! Get over it!

There's a lot of places like that if you just know where to look. Or just drive to the nicest area around you and visit the same chain as the "ordinary" grocery store near your house. I'm sure it'll be twice as nice!

    What were you waiting for?!?

I do all of my food shopping there and get most of my beer there. Wegman's beer selection rivals any distributer near me plus they carry some great variety 12 packs. Oh, and all of the food and stuff is nice too.

There is no comparison to any chains around here. Totally unique and mid bogglingly large. You'd have to see one compared the average stores around here.

Plus beer ... which is the exception here in post-Prohibition PA.

I know. One thing they do not have is great deli meats. I tried their turkey - it does not compare to Boar's Head.

There is a Giant on my way home from work. That's where I'll continue to get the regular stuff (Boar's Head) and go to Wegman's for the unique items Giant does not have.

You ever been to one? My wife works for whole foods, we have the brand new flagship albertsons here in town and I would rather go to an old wegmans.

    Weird about the deli meats...

Obviously Boars Head is the best...

But they will slice honey roasted ham right off the bone, carve you sliced turkey, and whole roasted roast beef...all better quality than your average deli meat. Stuff's pretty damn good. Its where I get all my lunch meats and cheeses

....and the food court isn't bad either

There's a few around me, started popping up about 10 years ago. They're pretty awesome, sometimes a little pricey, but not always. Some pretty good deals and some incredibly good hard-to-find items stocked on shelves.

I do not think so at all. The Wegman's turkey I got was OK, but is nowhere near as tasty as BH. BH also has several varieties of chicken or turkey most others don't.
