KYW Newsradio 1060 Philadelphia - Phillies' Broadcaster Harry Kalas Dies Suddenly at 73
Longtime Philadelphia Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas, 73, died on Monday afternoon in Washington, DC, shortly after being rushed by ambulance to George Washington University Hospital.
Phillies' president David Montgomery says Kalas was found after passing out in the broadcast booth, on the seventh level of Nationals Stadium, about 12:30pm, just a couple of hours before Monday's scheduled 3pm game against the Nationals.

Anyone listen to the game yesterday? That was ****ing tough.![]()
Yes it is tough.... I cried a couple of times.... He made baseball so easy to watch.... As a Phillies sports fan I was spoiled with such a great broadcaster...................This one is not easy....

Very sad. That guy was Philadelphia as much as pretzels, cheese steaks, and the Liberty Bell.

Hey was like and loved by many...........
I decided Monday that I'm watching the Phils with the sound muted for the first 38 games in tribute to each year he helped make baseball a better game. I'll put some music or something on so I don't have to think about it.
I had a surprisingly hard time with this Monday and Tuesday. Lazy Summer Saturday and Sunday gamedays this man practically read me bedtime stories of baseball as I drifted in and out of consciousness. The first through third and seventh through ninth were the most relaxing times of my weekend. He'll be dearly missed. Sarge, Wheeler and McCarthy will never fill the shoes left behind by The K.
my girl told me - he will be missed - best wishes to the family
