    2008 NEPA Fun Run

Back by popular demand, I would like to announce the 2008 NEPA Fun Run. This will be a bare bones, back road drive with a picnic to follow. Based on experience, I have learned that these runs are more of a follow-the-leader type drive. For back up purposes, I will have a printable map and directions of the route available. This run will be the shortest of the runs that we have done, at only 87 miles. Unlike previous runs, this one will not include all the bells and whistles (ie: trivia, etc).

For those of you that have never been to, but are interested in attending, pay attention!
First and foremost, this is NOT A RACE. Don’t be an idiot. There may be some spirited driving, but please drive with some sense. Bring a co-driver. An extra set of eyes is always a good thing and its more fun to share the experience with someone else. Some co-drivers may experience motion sickness. If they do, bring some Dramamine. This is an event where friends, sons, and fathers (and even mothers) come out to have a blast. Bring a legal and reliable car. We have yet to have a break down during a run and I would like to keep it that way.

If you have walkie talkie type 2 way radio please bring them.

Like all previous runs, we are going to end the run with some lunch. This time around we will be having a picnic at a location to be determined. If you plan on attending the picnic please bring something, Potluck style. Look at the list of people and what they are bringing before you announce what you are bringing.

Sign me up for this fun run. My navigator is probably gonna be my GPS as my GF is not into cars or fun runs... she might change her mind though.

Will there be a grill available at the picnic? Food selections depend on that.

    As for the Grill Q

I had an idea come to me today. There is a new park in town that has a BMX track, pavilion, walking path and tons of parking. They have a concession stand at the track that has hotdogs hamburger, beverages, etc. I could probably get them to supply more food options too. The food is cheap and to proceeds go to the track.

How would everyone feel about this?

If not, then yes there will be a grill available and we will have at least one car staying behind to pack with the food during the run.

If the proceeds go towards the BMX track I am double dog down for that!

I tweaked the route just a little. This has extended our drive to 87 miles. Only a few weeks away.

I spoke with the people in charge at the BMX track and they interested in fulfilling our picnic needs. They are going to make up platters that include a hotdog and hamburger, potato or macaroni salad, baked beans, a beverage and maybe a desert, all for $6.00 per person. All proceeded go to the BMX track.

If there is enough demand for a particular type of food that is not listed we can make a change to the menu.

If you are interested please IM me.

Can I use the track and jump? Just kidding (I wish I was 20 again)

This is a charity very close to my heart and I'm super stoked to be a part of it!

I was involved with this track early on. Then other priorities came into play. I still have a 24" Haro cruiser that I play around on from time to time. If I can dig up the link, I will post a video of the track that I made a couple years ago.
