Buy and Put on summer tires... FireHawk Wide Oval 225/50/16
Replace rotors... with Autozone generics for Glen Track Day beating
Flush Brake Fluid and replace... with Super Blue
Put on new front pads and break um in ... Hawk HP +

Then have a drink of rum after looking at my Credit Card statement......lol

I doubt i'll finish my swap this weekend. So much to do, so little time. But I did get the stock inlet & turbo out & the other 2 pinks in! Get it? Got it? Good! I still need to wrap my DP & decide what i'm doing with the IC.

Thanks. But I think i'll end up getting back to it next week. I'm waiting for IC gaskets from the stealership. This weekend is dedicated to fixing the brakes on my GFs & my buddy's car.

Ok update on weekend driveway projects

Tires... Check
Rotors... Check
Hawk HP+ ..... Check
SuperBlue Brake Fluid Flush... Check

Issue:

Hearing a loud grinding noise when I make a slow right turn from the left rear brakes Looked up on some forums and apparrently the ebrake backing plate might be rubbing on the new rotor. I think its was because that rotor was the hardest to remove cause the rust and brake dust has been caked on so had to pull out the rubber hammer. and i think my hammer antics might have bent the backing plate. So monday night's plan is to bend back the backing plate. I hope that is the problem and not something more serious like bearings

So i will give a verdict tomorrow.

I didn't end up doing any brakes this weekend. So I got my VF39 in, all the lines hooked up & ready to go. I also got the turbo inlet in. I should be done by wednesday,...

Time to drink so it was the problem i read about where the new rear rotor was rubbing against a section of the ebrake backing plate.

Solution: Pneumatic hammer

Since we had no dremmel tool to cut of the part of the backing plate that was rubbing we brought out option 2. hammer in the rubbing part with a pneumatic hammer to resses it enough so no more rubbing.


Result: i dam near did a donut in the empty parking lot making a right turn and no rubbing noise

On another note will be buying some rally armor mud flaps before I track my baby, apparently these 225s been kicking up alot more than dust on my side panels.

Is anyone going to Leicester, NYIRP, for Test & Tune fridays? They have a 1/4 mile track. You pay $13 to run down the track as many times as you like. There's a lot of imports, domestics & street bikes. They also have food available. Good times! I'm most likely going down there.

Don't forget, sunday is Opening Day at Watkins Glen. $20 gets you 3 laps around the track. Let's represent Subaru! I will be there.

So I didn't go to Leicester (NYIRP) on friday. The guy who was supposed to paint my hood scoop tried to pull a fast one on me. Needless to say I didn't get it till saturday & it wasn't even finished. Please don't go to Choice One in Webster, NY. The owner Kelley is a crook & very mentally unstable.

On another note, Watkins Glen was ok. The drive down was nice. There were some other Subies there. I met some guys from Ithaca. We got held up on the track by a slow azz Miata which pretty much made it lame. Damn you! Zoom, zoom, what?! I posted some pics on the Watkins Glen thread. Check them out.
