I'm a CJ major and brought it up to one of my professors who is a retired statie. He said go for a offcenter bracket. And if that's not an option your better off without one than putting it in your window. A cop is more likely to notice it on your dash and pull you over than he is to even notice that you don't have one.

Does the number plate have to be a certain size? In the UK we used to put motorbike sized plates on the front as they were a lot smaller. That is assuming motorbike plates are smaller than car ones, and you can get hold of them.

Number plates are issued by the state & all come in standard size.

I have never understood the whole "front license plate hate" thing.

    I have one & basically don't care.

i did some research and in the nj state law Article 39:3.33 states that a license plate has to be clearly visible with height restrictions of no lower than 1 foot off the ground and no higher than 4 ft off the ground. I have had my license plate suction cupped in my 2010 wrx since i got it in may 2010 and have not gotten a ticket for it. if you get pulled over for it you politely tell the cop the law code article and describe to him the height restrictions and lets you go. I was pulled over only twice and never get hassled anymore. I didn't want to drill holes in my brand new car and looks alot better. hope this helps some people!
