Verna's Auto in south Philly is AWESOME. They specialize in BMWs but also work on Benz, Porsche and Subaru. The first time I was there I saw them fixing Shauna Marinus' (I think that's how it's spelled) banged up World Challenge Mazda. They have been tuning for a long while now and even have their own World Challenge entries as well as many customer SCCA and NASA cars.

If you want some other info about work they've done, they retrofitted a German 740i 6 speed into a 740IL (autmatic naturally), put a blower on the engine with some help from a swedish place that does the ECU remapping, as well as a lot of other work on it, brakes, springs, custom fiske wheels, and very stealth 4 point harnesses becoming of a 7 series. Check http://www.cardomain.com/id/bimmerhead for more info.

They are also the people that work with B&M on BMW applications of short shifters, so they have a great relationship with them. And, their rates are reasonable and I trust them more than any shop.

I think that's a recommendation Their web page is http://vacmotorsports.com/
