    center differential

so my center diff has gone bad, as in bad i mean gears are destroyed and so are bearings ...so any ways, since im having a hard time locating a rebuild kit(if those even exist) and a used transmission with lower miles since my car only has 62k. but in the mean time i was wondering if the 5 speed non turbo would have the same size gears in the differential as the turbo one, idk if thats a sumb question or not but i feel like they might be. any help in finding a rebuild kit or info on the differences of those transmission would be awesome

Same center differential: yes. Same gears: not even close.

responding to your thing in the chat, but yea my case if fine and everything else in the transmission, minus the gears and bearings in the center diff. so thats why i was wondering if i could just take those internals from the non turbo one and put them in my turbo one. i know the transmission gears would be different but i would think the diff ones would be the same

yea, im going to call the dealership tomorrow. i mean they should know. ive seen online other people buying the complete center diffs used for like 150$ but i cant find any no matter how many different searches i do. i figure this way if the ratio is the same, i can go to a local junkyard and get it.

Call Andrewtech. They know Subaru transmissions in and out and can probably point you in the right direction.

wouldnt i have to switch out my rear differential then to make it work? or do the 02-03 have the same diffs?

ugh this is such a headache. i did have my friend look up the part numbers for the internals in both diffs the non, and turbo 5 speeds, and they seem to have all the same numbers, so we found a used non turbo 5 speed for 400$ we are gonna take apart and see if they are the same or not

Definitely the center differential. I just finished rebuilding mine with new parts direct from Subaru. I have similar pics as subbiekid09 with similar horrific looking bits.
